World class New Ayodhya to be designed like arched bow on Saryu banks | India News

AYODHYA: In a giant leap forward to establish a modern Ayodhya adjacent to ancient temple town, the Uttar Pradesh government is planning an arched bow design for the world class township, which will have Saryu in silhouette and streets mirroring sun rays emanating from Ram temple in a bird’s eye view. Global consultants will be roped in to give final shape to the blueprint, which will turn Ayodhya into a global pilgrimage centre of ancient religions — Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism.
To fast-track the project, the state government issued a notification under Section 28 of Land Acquisition Act for acquiring over 1,000acre of land and a housing development board team reached Ayodhya to kickstart the procedure from next week. The gazette notification is likely to be done by Saturday.
The state government approved the project and made UP Housing Development Board the nodal agency, which has set up camp at the Ayodhya Development Authority office.
After the bhoomipujan ceremony attended by PM Narendra Modi on August 5, chief minister Yogi Adityanath had given instructions for swiftly taking up work to establish a world-class New Ayodhya.
Talking to TOI, vice-chairman of Ayodhya Development Authority and municipal commissioner Vishal Singh, said, “New Ayodhya will include acquisition of 1,193 acre from Manjha Tiruha, Manjha Baretha and Shahnawazpur villages along Saryu banks for which Rs4,000 crore has been sanctioned.” The Housing Board had earlier identified land along national highway between Faizabad and Ayodhya and given a presentation to the chief minister.
“Ayodhya will be developed as a global pilgrimage city, a major religious centre for Hindus and linked to Chitrakoot through Ram Van Gaman Marg as part of Ramayan circuit,” said Singh.
