India exceeding Paris agreement targets: PM Modi at G20 summit | India News

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said India is not only meeting Paris agreement targets but also exceeding them.
Virtually addressing the G20 summit hosted by Saudi Arabia this year, PM Modi said, “We are focused on saving citizens, economy from pandemic. It is equally important to keep our focus on fighting climate change. Climate change must be fought not in silos but in an integrated, comprehensive and holistic way. India has adopted low carbon & climate-resilient development practices.”
“International Solar Alliance is among fastest-growing international organisations. ISA will contribute to reducing carbon footprint,” he said.
The Prime Minister also called for cooperation and collaboration for further increasing research and innovation in new and sustainable technologies.
“The entire world can progress faster if there is a greater support of technology and finance to the developing world. For humanity to prosper, every single individual must prosper,” he said.
